Miles Peter Kane is an English singer and musician, best known as a solo artist and co-frontman of The Last Shadow Puppets alongside Alex Turner. Born in Birkenhead in 1986, he first gained attention as the former frontman of The Rascals before their 2009 break-up. While he focused on his solo career starting in 2011 with the release of Colour of the Trap, he remains an active member of The Last Shadow Puppets (2007-present). His discography includes five solo albums, culminating in the October 2025 release of Sunlight in the Shadows through Easy Eye Sound.

Kane's musical journey began in Birkenhead, influenced heavily by his cousins James and Ian Skelly of The Coral. At age 18, he joined The Little Flames as a guitarist in December 2004, touring with acts like The Arctic Monkeys before the band split in 2007. He then formed The Rascals with childhood friends Greg Mighall and Joe Edwards, releasing their debut album 'Rascalize' on 23 June 2008. During this time, while touring with the Arctic Monkeys, he began experimenting backstage with frontman Alex Turner. This partnership led to the formation of The Last Shadow Puppets, where they recorded their debut album, The Age of the Understatement, in just two weeks in France. The album went straight to number 1 in the UK Album Charts. After a hiatus, the duo returned with Everything You've Come To Expect in 2016, featuring bassist Zach Dawes.

In early 2009, following his last tour with The Rascals, Kane left the band to focus on a solo career, signing with Columbia Records. He recorded his debut album, Colour of the Trap, with producers Dan Carey and Dan the Automator, releasing it on 9 May 2011. The record featured backing vocals from Noel Gallagher and a duet with Clémence Poésy. Kane supported Arctic Monkeys in Sheffield in June 2011 and toured Australia in January 2012. His second album, Don't Forget Who You Are, arrived on 3 June 2013, produced by Ian Broudie and featuring tracks co-written with Paul Weller. In September 2017, he joined Matt Bellamy and others in Dr. Pepper's Jaded Hearts Club Band for a Beatles tribute. His fifth solo album, One Man Band, released in August 2023, marked his first collaboration with his cousins Ian and James Skelly.
